My first day here coincided with the funeral ceremony of Thailand’s former King Bhumibol. Thousands of people, all dressed in pristine black, took to the streets to celebrate the life of the monarch who passed away a year ago. Under extreme heat they formed long lines at temples to pay their final respects. Food, water and muscle gels were distributed to counter the waiting times. It was a remarkable (and highly organized) display of emotion. Bangkok, Thailand - October 2017
